Blinded by War: documenting the aftermath of injury in Ukraine - photo essay

Since 2025, US photojournalist Paula Bronstein has documented wounded Ukrainian servicemen for her project, Blinded by War. Vladimir Putin’s 2022 invasion left many young men with life-changing injuries. Bronstein said, “The people in Ukraine are incredible. What fascinates me is their resilience.” Her photos show their struggle and enduring humanity.
