SK Hynix to invest $38 billion to expand AI memory chip production in South Korea

SK Hynix plans a 54 trillion won ($38 billion) expansion of its chipmaking facilities in South Korea. The company said this move responds to "the continuously growing demand for memory in the AI era." It will build new plants in Yongin and Cheongju to boost production capacity through April 2031.
