Anthropic to build custom AI chips

Anthropic plans to build custom AI chips to power its Claude models. A recent job listing showed the company is hiring engineers for a custom silicon team. While they still use chips from AWS, Google, NVIDIA, and AMD, the firm wants to manage rising costs by creating its own hardware.
