This is a photo of the Sun, and it can answer a big question about our star
The NSF's Daniel K. Inouye Solar Telescope captured new whirlpools on the Sun in April 2025. These plasma vortices, known as Kelvin-Helmholtz instabilities, appear across the solar surface. Dr Friedrich Wöger said, "These are the highest spatial resolution images of the solar surface ever acquired." These findings help explain solar heat.
