Tarun Tejpal sentenced to 10 years in 2013 sexual assault case

The Bombay High Court on August 6, 2026, convicted former editor Tarun Tejpal for rape in a 2013 sexual assault case. The court awarded him a 10-year prison sentence and gave him two weeks to surrender. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta sought the maximum punishment to show that “no means no”.
