Basavaraj Horatti resigns as Karnataka Legislative Council Chairperson

Karnataka Legislative Council Chairperson Basavaraj Horatti submitted his resignation on August 7. He said, "I met the Chief Minister to thank him for co-operating for this long." Congress leader Saleem Ahmed is the candidate for the position. Mr. Horatti will continue as pro-tem Speaker until the new Chairperson gets elected.
