A Telangana senior citizen won Rs 30,000 after Railways denied a refund for a train cancelled due to December 2023 floods. The commission called the Railways’ approach “inhumane” as the passenger could not reach counters while stranded. It said the rules failed to address natural calamities, forcing the refund payout.
