Fake university count in India rises to 32 after eight more institutions are flagged

India now has 32 fake universities after eight more institutions were flagged, according to data shared in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. Minister Sukanta Majumdar said the government asked states to register police cases and shut down these campuses. The UGC regularly updates this list to protect students from scams.
