Our hopes have withered just like our crops: TN farmers on agriculture budget

Nagapattinam farmers said the TVK government’s maiden agriculture budget failed to address their pressing issues. Farmers pointed to the absence of drought relief and support for the samba season. A farmer said, “All the crops I sowed have withered under the impact of intense heat, scanty rainfall and depleting watertable.”
