NBFC credit rises 14.4% in June 2026, led by retail lending

Outstanding credit by non-banking financial companies rose 14.4 per cent to ₹59.31 lakh crore in June 2026. Retail loans led this growth, jumping 20.3 per cent to ₹25.62 lakh crore. Gold jewellery loans also saw a massive surge of 69.3 per cent, showing that many people now prefer using gold for credit.
