Lok Sabha passes Bill proposing tax holidays, predictability

The Lok Sabha on Thursday passed the Taxation and Other Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026, to attract foreign investment. It offers tax holidays for electronic goods manufacturers and eases rules for data centres. Sumit Singhania said, "Extended tax holiday period for electronic goods manufacturers ought to enable investors to commit long term capital."
