A 'wholistic' view of cellular communication across an entire animal

Scientists at HHMI's Janelia Research Campus developed a new method called WHOLISTIC to record real-time communication signals from nearly every cell in a living zebrafish. Published in the journal Nature, this technique helps researchers see how different biological systems interact. Misha Ahrens said, "this now allows all these fields to connect."
