Venezuela's Maduro to test US courts' reluctance to apply international law in criminal cases
Ousted Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro will file motions on Wednesday to dismiss his drug trafficking case in New York. His lawyer said Maduro is immune from prosecution as a sovereign head of state. However, U.S. courts have long rejected such arguments, and the U.S. stopped recognizing his leadership in 2019.
