US proposes new plan to ease Israel-Lebanon tensions amid fighting

The US has a new plan to calm things down between Israel and Lebanon. They want Hezbollah to stop attacking Israel, and in return, Israel would stop escalating things in Beirut. A US official said this "would create space for gradual de-escalation." Lebanon's President is trying to get an agreement.
