Iran’s leaders acknowledge economic toll of war, pledge diplomacy, defence
Iran’s leaders acknowledged on Saturday that six months of war caused economic damage, with foreign trade shrinking by over a third. President Masoud Pezeshkian said exports and imports fell nearly 35 percent due to sanctions. The government now plans to curb inflation and create jobs while pursuing diplomacy and defence.
