Hurricane Lala weakens to a tropical storm, but flooding persists in Hawaii

Hurricane Lala weakened to a tropical storm after passing south of Hawaii on Sunday. While the storm moved away, heavy rain and strong winds still hit the islands. Christine Matsuda said, “big gusts every few minutes rattle the whole house.” Many homes lost power as flooding and dangerous conditions continued.
