How US sanctions on Iran ripple through global markets and consumers

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced new economic sanctions on Iran on Monday, targeting its oil, gas, and shipping sectors. The measures also include a naval blockade of Iranian ports. Analyst Peiman Salehi said, “Iran seems to have much less room than it did in previous years to work around sanctions.”
