AfD turns 'Vespa of East Germany' into election campaign vehicle

Ulrich Siegmund led a motorcade on a blue moped in Quedlinburg on August 24. Nearly 5,000 people attended the AfD event ahead of the September 6 Saxony-Anhalt election. The party used the beloved Simson brand to appeal to East German identity. Siegmund said, "This Simson culture represents individual freedom of movement."
