Smartphone shipments hit 13-year Q2 low, Samsung takes back world No. 1 crown

Global smartphone shipments fell 11 per cent year-on-year in Q2 of 2026, hitting a 13-year low. A memory crisis forced many brands to raise prices, weakening demand. Despite this, Samsung took back the world No. 1 crown from Apple with a 24 per cent market share during the same period.
