Sarvam, BharatGen offer AI cheaper than DeepSeek. Can they sustain it?

Indian firms Sarvam AI and BharatGen rolled out foundation models at prices much lower than global rivals like OpenAI. BharatGen’s Param-2 costs ₹5 per million output tokens, while Sarvam charges ₹10. Experts cautioned that these firms remain far behind global rivals and may not trigger a worldwide price disruption.
