Meta expands Louisiana data center to 5 gigawatts compute capacity

Meta said on Monday its Richland Parish data center will expand to 5 gigawatts to support AI ambitions. The project already gave local businesses over $1.6 billion in contracts. Meta plans to spend over $1 billion on local infrastructure, part of a $600 billion pledge for U.S. jobs and growth.
