Mad Street Den built the future of AI. Then its founders walked away.

Ashwini Asokan and Anand Chandrasekaran walked away from their Chennai-based startup, Mad Street Den, in December 2023. They rejected a $50 million funding deal because the terms hurt early investors. Asokan said, "We weren't going to screw them over." The founders chose to leave rather than accept the unfair conditions.
