Apple has announced a special edition of the AirPods 5 in India to celebrate the festive season. The new edition comes with a custom-designed rangoli engraving on its Wireless Charging Case, which gives the earbuds a festive look. Apart from the special edition earbuds, Apple is also offering festive deals on select products, including iPhones, Macs and iPads.
The special edition is available in limited quantities and is designed around the traditional Indian art of rangoli. So, if you are planning to buy a new pair of AirPods or looking for a festive gift, here's what Apple has announced.
AirPods 5 special edition: Specs and features
The Special Edition AirPods 5 comes with a Wireless Charging Case featuring a custom rangoli engraving inspired by the traditional Indian art form. While the design is different, the earbuds retain the features of the regular AirPods 5.
The AirPods 5 offer Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which Apple claims is up to 1.5 times more effective than the previous generation. They also feature a redesigned acoustic architecture and next-generation Adaptive EQ, which are designed to deliver richer and more detailed sound.
The earbuds feature an open-ear design for all-day comfort. They also support Live Translation, powered by Apple Intelligence, to help users communicate across supported languages. However, language support is currently limited to select languages.
There is also a force sensor with a volume swipe gesture, allowing users to adjust the volume easily. The Wireless Charging Case offers up to 22 hours of battery life with ANC enabled. It also comes with a built-in speaker to help locate the case through Find My. Users can charge it using an Apple Watch charger or a Qi wireless charger.
