iQOO has confirmed the upcoming launch of the iQOO 16 in India, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset. Unveiled at IMC 2026, the flagship smartphone's exact launch date and pricing remain unannounced by the company.
iQOO has confirmed that its next flagship smartphone, the iQOO 16, is coming to India. The device was unveiled at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026 during a Snapdragon event.
At the event, iQOO India CEO Nipun Marya confirmed that the phone will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset.
Following the event, Marya shared posts on social media hinting at the upcoming device. While the company has confirmed the phone's arrival in India, it has not yet revealed an exact launch date or its expected price.
iQOO 16 to feature Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6
Marya confirmed the processor in a post on X, saying the iQOO 16 would feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. He added that the company aims to combine high performance with thoughtful engineering to deliver what it describes as a balanced flagship smartphone.
In another post, Marya said the device would soon come to India. The phone was showcased at IMC 2026, giving attendees an opportunity to see its design.
iQOO 16 design and colour options
The iQOO 16 features a squircle-shaped rear camera module with separate rings around the camera sensors. The phone is shown in three colour options named Chasing Lights, Legend and Racing Track.
The Chasing Lights variant features a three-dimensional lighting effect that shifts between red holographic patterns and blue light as the device moves.
Display, battery and charging
The smartphone is expected to feature a 6.85-inch Samsung M16 AMOLED display with 2K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate.
The iQOO 16 is also reported to pack an 8,400mAh battery, with support for 100W wired fast charging and 40W wireless charging.
Camera and specifications
The camera setup is likely to include three 50-megapixel rear cameras, comprising a primary sensor, an ultra-wide lens and a periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. A 32-megapixel front camera is expected to handle selfies and video calls.
Other expected specifications include LPDDR5X Ultra RAM, UFS 4.1 storage and a dedicated Q4 gaming chip. The phone is also expected to run OriginOS 7 based on Android 17.
These specifications have not been confirmed in the official announcements shared so far.
iQOO 16 India launch and expected price
iQOO has confirmed that the smartphone is coming to India, but the company has yet to announce its launch date or pricing. Its predecessor, the iQOO 15, has been listed at a starting price of ₹85,999 in India.
The India announcement follows the phone's September launch in China, where the base variant with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is priced at CNY 5,999 (approximately ₹86,000).
