Flipkart's Big Billion Days (TBBD) is returning for its 13th edition, bringing together consumers, sellers, brands and employees for one of India's biggest festive shopping events.
This year's TBBD comes with a larger focus on technology, faster fulfilment and the changing way consumers discover and shop for products. The campaign theme, "Luck Badal Sakta Hai, Yahan Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai", builds on the idea of unexpected moments and possibilities during the festive season.
TBBD 2026 brings together more than 150 million products across over 80 categories, with more than 1.4 million sellers participating on the platform.
This year's edition sees the highest-ever seller participation, with over 60 per cent more transacting sellers than last year. More than 2.5 crore units from MSMEs, small sellers, artisans and weavers have been pre-positioned in Ekart fulfilment centres, giving local businesses access to 500 million registered customers across India.
The scale of the event also reflects the changing nature of India's festive shopping season. Consumers are increasingly discovering products through digital platforms and social media, comparing options online and looking for a shopping experience that combines value, variety, convenience and speed.
This year's TBBD brings 2X new selection for customers, alongside the widest-ever new launch line-up across mobiles, large appliances, and beauty and personal care. In fashion, more than 1,200 trends will be available at their lowest prices of the year.
For Flipkart, this has meant evolving TBBD beyond a traditional festive sale and building an ecosystem around how consumers shop today.
Technology is playing a larger role in that experience. Flipkart is bringing AI-powered discovery into the shopping journey, allowing consumers to explore products using text, voice and images.
Personalised recommendations and curated feeds are also becoming part of the experience, making product discovery more relevant to individual shoppers. Conversational AI is further helping shoppers move from a broad need to relevant product choices.
The shift is particularly significant for younger consumers, who are increasingly influenced by digital content and social media when discovering products. The shopping journey can now begin with a social post, a recommendation or a digital trend before moving to the platform to compare and purchase.
Pratik Arun Shetty, Vice President, Growth and Marketing at Flipkart, brings the consumer and marketing perspective to this changing shopping behaviour, including the role of social media, younger consumers and new patterns of product discovery during the festive season.
At the other end of the shopping journey is the infrastructure required to deliver those purchases. Behind every order placed during TBBD is a large network of warehouses, fulfilment centres, technology systems, delivery hubs and employees working together to handle the increase in festive demand.
In this edition, sellers from craft clusters in smaller cities are also extending access to premium products for first-time shoppers in Tier 3 and 4 markets that were not available to them before. Tier 2+ cities, including Patna, Jaipur, Guwahati, Siliguri and Salem, are emerging as key growth centres, reflecting rapid expansion of quick commerce beyond metros.
Hemant Badri, Senior Vice President and Head of Supply Chain, Minutes, Customer Experience and ReCommerce at Flipkart, represents this operational side of TBBD, covering the supply chain, technology, fulfilment and changing expectations around delivery speed.
Speed has become an increasingly important part of the consumer experience.
Flipkart Minutes has expanded its presence to more than 150 cities, offering a wider range of products and categories through its quick-commerce network. This festive season, it will offer more than 77,000 products across over 1,400 categories, ranging from daily essentials to premium electronics, fashion and last-minute gifting.
Flipkart has expanded its supply chain ahead of TBBD, adding 14 million cubic feet of warehousing capacity and increasing storage capacity by 50 per cent. The company has also expanded its delivery network with more than 900 additional delivery hubs and access to over 750 new PIN codes. These include Leh, Kargil and communities across the Northeast, expanding access to same-day and next-day delivery across more parts of India.
Technology and automation are also being used to increase peak processing capacity and manage the scale of festive orders. Automation has increased peak processing capacity by over 30 per cent, while AI-powered geocoding and last-mile orchestration are helping improve speed and accuracy across the network.
The growth of services such as Minutes also reflects how consumer expectations have changed. The question is no longer only what consumers want to buy, but how quickly and conveniently they can get it.
The scale of TBBD extends beyond consumers and logistics. The event brings together Flipkart's seller ecosystem, employees and brands during one of the most important periods of the year for Indian retail.
Rajneesh Kumar, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Flipkart Group, represents the broader perspective of what TBBD means for Flipkart and how the festive shopping landscape has evolved over the years.
From the consumer discovering a product to the seller listing it, the technology helping a shopper find it, the supply chain moving it and the delivery network taking it to the doorstep, TBBD brings together multiple parts of Flipkart's ecosystem in one large-scale event.
The 2026 edition therefore reflects more than the growth of a festive sale.
It captures the evolution of Indian e-commerce itself, where shopping is becoming increasingly digital, personalised, fast and connected.
At the centre of that evolution is the consumer, while behind the experience is an ecosystem of technology, sellers, employees, supply chains and fulfilment networks working at scale.
The festive season also brings a wider opportunity for participation across this ecosystem, with more than 2.5 lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities created this year, including nearly 75,000 for first-time workforce entrants.
As Flipkart takes TBBD into its 13th edition, the idea behind this year's campaign remains at the centre of the experience: "Luck Badal Sakta Hai, Yahan Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai".
