Tilak Varma suffered a bizarre run-out during India's third T20I against the West Indies in Indore after a momentary lapse in concentration left him stranded outside his crease. The left-hander scored 28 off 16 balls, including four boundaries, before an extraordinary sequence of events brought his innings to an end.

The incident occurred when Axar Patel flicked a low full toss from Gudakesh Motie towards deep backward square leg. Kamil Pooran sprinted across, dived and managed to stop the ball from reaching the boundary, pushing it back into play.

Believing the ball had gone for four, Axar and Tilak completed a single and began exchanging glove punches in the middle of the pitch. However, Pooran had kept the ball in play, and the West Indies quickly seized their opportunity.

Axar, who was facing the play, managed to ground his bat in time at the non-striker's end as Shai Hope attempted a run-out. Tilak, meanwhile, appeared unaware of the danger and remained outside his crease. The ball was relayed to Motie, who broke the stumps at the bowler's end.

The third umpire reviewed the incident, confirmed that Pooran had stopped the boundary and ruled Tilak run out.
