Venus ate its moon: How Earth's 'twin' could have swallowed a rocky satellite

New UC Riverside research shows Venus likely swallowed its moon. Lead author Stephen Kane said, "My study shows Venus didn't require a catastrophe to arrive at what we can see today." Venus spins slowly, so its gravity pulled the moon inward until it crashed into the planet long ago.
