Quantum fluid reveals hidden states that can be switched with a magnetic field
Researchers at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory observed a tunable Bose-Einstein condensate of excitons in an atomically thin semiconductor. The findings, published in Nature, show the condensate has an internal structure that can be switched by a magnetic field. Principal investigator Feng Wang said, "Our work provides a way to access that hidden structure directly."
