Meteorite dust holds records of magnetism that may have helped form the sun
MIT scientists discovered ancient magnetism records in meteorite samples found in Antarctica in 2008. These grains formed during the solar system’s first 200,000 years. Benjamin Weiss said, "It has long been theorized that gravity caused this, but our measurements show magnetism likely played a role" in forming the early sun.
