LST-1 and MAGIC telescopes shatter distance record for the very high-energy blazar OP 313
On Aug. 15, the LST-1 and MAGIC telescopes set a record by observing the distant blazar OP 313. Located 8 billion light-years away, this galaxy sent powerful gamma rays across space. Scientists used these findings to study the universe's background light and how particles move within the galaxy's bright central engine.
