IIT Kanpur researchers solve mystery of atypical drug target receptor

IIT Kanpur researchers, led by Prof. Arun K Shukla, used cryo-EM to solve the mystery of C5aR2, an immune receptor. They found its internal structure differs, causing atypical signalling. They also developed a molecule, R8Y, that selectively targets C5aR2, advancing drug design for immune responses.
