Designer proteins unlock near-infrared and SWIR glow for deeper tissue imaging
Researchers developed new proteins for deeper tissue imaging. These proteins glow in near-infrared and short-wave infrared light, which penetrates tissue better. The study, published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society, showed these redesigned proteins can visualize biological structures with high sensitivity in cell cultures and animal tests.
