Bacteria from ancestral wheat microbiomes help protect plants against root rot fungus
Researchers from EMBRAPA and USP found three bacteria that protect wheat from root rot fungus. Tests showed a 60% reduction in disease symptoms. Rodrigo Mendes said, "The plants inoculated with the bacteria built a kind of microbiological shield that prevented the fungus from causing the disease." This helps plant growth.
