A new record holder for the world's oldest amber discovered in China
Paleontologists in China discovered the world’s oldest chemically verified amber, dating back 385 million years. The team found 241 tiny fragments while studying coal samples. "Our chemically verified Hujiersite amber represents the earliest confirmed amber record thus far," the authors said. This resin helped early plants heal and survive threats.
