Trinamool loyalists on Wednesday (June 3) said expelled leader Ritabrata Banerjee cannot be Leader of the Opposition. This follows 58 MLAs defecting and declaring themselves the principal Opposition party, with Banerjee as their leader. Senior MLA Kunal Ghosh said, "an expelled leader cannot be the head of a political party." The party also dissolved all units.
