Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said on Saturday that welfare schemes would help Congress win elections. He noted that 1.06 crore families get fine rice and medical coverage. Party leaders urged workers to ensure candidate Ramreddy Sarvotham Reddy wins the upcoming graduates' MLC election by showing unity and hard work.
NALGONDA: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Saturday said the welfare schemes would bring votes to the Congress for victory in the elections, whatever may be the electoral battle came after December 2023.
Speaking at Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda graduates' MLC election preparatory meeting held by the District Congress Committee (DCC) in Khammam, Bhati said Telangana has approximately 1.15 crore families, of which nearly 1.06 crore families, comprising 3.42 crore people, were receiving six kilograms of fine rice per person every month under public distribution system (PDS). The Telangana government is the only state government in the country that was supplying fine rice to the ration cardholders, he maintained.
Nearly 1.06 crore families across the state were covered by the Rajiv Aarogyasri scheme, for medical treatment coverage of up to '10 lakh per family. He further stated that the government was implementing a system of directly crediting fee reimbursement funds into the bank accounts of approximately 12.5 lakh students so that financial difficulties would not interrupt their education.
Describing Khammam district as a strong base for the Congress party, Bhatti Vikramarka called upon party workers to demonstrate the same unity in the Graduates' MLC election and ensure that the Congress candidate Ramreddy Sarvotham Reddy won with an overwhelming majority.
Stating that victory of the Congress candidate in Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda graduates' MLC was crystal clear, revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy felt the task before the Congress and cadre is to make Sarvotham Reddy to win elections with first priority votes.
The Congress government has filled up 75,000 vacant jobs in the last three years and would soon issue notification for recruitment of 14,000 jobs. He suggested that each mandal would be considered as a unit and the Congress leaders ensure at least 15 party sympathisers enrol as graduates' MLC voters, which would make for an easy victory for Sarvotham Reddy.
Agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao reminded that the Congress government has taken up several initiatives for skill development and employment opportunities for the youth. He asked the Congress workers to widely publicise them, while seeking votes for Sarvotham Reddy.
Sarvotham Reddy reminded that four generations of his family continued as loyal to the Congress party. The graduates were looking for a candidate, who would voice their issues and strive to solve them. He promised to do it after winning in the graduates MLC elections.
