Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has described the unlawful detention of Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi, and other MPs of Congress and all INDIA alliance partners as the reflection and proof of hubris of a failing government.

The INDIA bloc has been protesting against the functioning of the Election Commission and has raised concerns over the electoral roll revision exercise. Tuesday's (October 6, 2026) march was aimed at taking the protest to the ECI office.

Mr. Reddy said the BJP-led government is afraid of Mr. Gandhi's leadership to fight to save India and its Constitution and to commit to saving the voting rights of every India. "There are precedents in our country's history. The British Government also arrested Lokmanya Balgangadhar Tilak, Mahatma Gandhi, Pundit Nehru, Sardar Vallabhai Patel, Subhash Chandra Bose and other leaders at different times of our freedom struggle on similarly flimsy grounds," he said.

"The British Janata Party (BJP) can rest assured; we are not going away from our determination and resolve to stake everything for the sake of the country. India shall fight till its last ounce of ability, and till democratic forces led by Rahul Gandhi triumph," Mr. Reddy added.

Asserting that the BJP could not stifle hope and voice of country's youth, he said the INDIA alliance would fight till its last ounce of ability and till the democratic forces led by Mr. Rahul Gandhi triumph.
