‘TN consent not needed for Mekedatu’

The union government said on Monday that Karnataka does not need consent from Tamil Nadu to build the Mekedatu reservoir. Union Minister Raj Bhushan Choudhary clarified that the 2018 Supreme Court judgment does not require permission from other states. Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar welcomed this news for the state.
