New Delhi: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday slammed the Central government and the Election Commission (EC) for denying voting rights to several people in the name of SIR.

Speaking to media persons, he said that everyone has the right to vote through the Constitution and in the past, the SIR was taken up to provide voting rights. He alleged that it is currently being used to remove people's votes.

The Central government is now using the Election Commission to remove the votes of those who oppose the BJP, with the help of SIR. It gave the task to CEC Gyanesh Kumar to remove the votes of their opponents.

Those who oppose the BJP are the youth, the unemployed and the poor. Gyanesh Kumar is trying to remove their votes. The other two ECs opposed mistakes made in the EC. It has been revealed that Gyanesh Kumar is taking unilateral decisions. "What is the objection for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to remove such an officer?" he asked. "The BJP lost in the states where the SIR process was not carried out. It won in Bihar and West Bengal where this process was carried out. If the population of the country is increasing, then the number of voters should also increase. So why has it decreased?" Revanth Reddy questioned.
