Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta warned the opposition on Saturday that the government will stop attempts to disrupt law and order. She accused leaders of creating anarchy for political gains. "Let it be known: Delhi will not be held hostage," Gupta said, as police detained many protesters at Jantar Mantar.

Issuing a stern warning to the opposition, Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday categorically said that the INDIA's block attempt to disrupt the law and order situation in the national capital will be scuttled at all cost. She also accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal of acting in coordination with the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). In a post on X, the Delhi CM questioned the leaders' political approach and accused them of allowing their frustration over repeated electoral defeats to affect Delhi residents. She also raised concerns about the impact of political activities on people travelling to work, daily-wage labourers and patients trying to reach hospitals. "Let it be known: Delhi will not be held hostage," Gupta said, adding that there would be a firm response to attempts to spread unrest in the name of democracy. She alleged that parties driven by dynastic politics and political opportunism were unable to accept the mandate. Gupta also targeted Kejriwal, accusing him of attempting to disturb peace and security in Delhi for political gains. Gupta asked whether the leaders' political ambitions were more important than the livelihoods, safety and peace of millions of families in Delhi. The BJP leader further criticised what she described as the politics of creating anarchy under the guise of democracy. She said her government would oppose attempts to disrupt peace in the national capital and challenge the people's mandate.     Reiterating BJP's continued emphasis on good governance, she said: "Delhi had voted for development and referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's third consecutive term in office as a reflection of public support." Meanwhile, the BJP said on Saturday, accusing Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi of spreading anarchy in cahoots with foreign powers, likening him to Mir Jafar. It was a victory of democracy over "mob rule", BJP leader Sambit Patra said, as hundreds of youths and several politicians who headed to Jantar Mantar were detained by Delhi Police. Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad, on the other hand, alleged that the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) had called the protest to do "shadow boxing" for the Aam Aadmi Party but the Indian democracy destroyed their "quest for anarchy". Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters here, Patra called Gandhi a "nalayak" leader, condemning his Friday remarks that President Droupadi Murmu did not deny the INDIA bloc's "vote chori" allegation at a meeting.
