Protests intensify against move to split Palakkad rail division

Protests intensified on Monday against the Railway Board's decision to transfer the Mangaluru-Ullal section to the Mysuru division. The DYFI held a march to the DRM office in Palakkad, leading to scuffles and arrests. DYFI state secretary M. Vijin said, "the organisation would continue its agitation until the decision was withdrawn."
