Keralam Islamic scholar says women’s public appearances will cause ‘great destruction’

Islamic scholar Kanthapuram A.P. Aboobacker Musliar said on Sunday that women should remain confined to their homes. Speaking in Kochi, he claimed that bringing women onto public platforms would lead to “great destruction.” The scholar insisted that Islam mandated purdah to protect women, a view taught for 100 years.
