India acknowledges US indictment of Lawrence Bishnoi, avoids extradition comment

India’s Foreign Ministry on Tuesday acknowledged the US indictment of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi regarding the 2023 killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the move aligns with India’s long-standing security concerns. He added, "India has consistently maintained that transnational organised crime, terrorism, and related criminal networks pose a serious threat."
