Election Commission extends Karnataka SIR by 12 days, 'surprises' state unit

The Election Commission of India on Wednesday extended the Special Intensive Revision of Karnataka’s electoral roll by 12 days. This move surprised the state unit, as it came right after a press conference. House-to-house visits by booth-level officers now run until August 8, with final rolls expected on October 19.
