Days after Firhad Hakim exit, Bengal govt dissolves Kolkata muncipal corporation

Bengal government dissolved the Kolkata Municipal Corporation board on Monday, three days after Firhad Hakim stepped down as mayor. Municipal commissioner Smita Pandey got appointed as administrator. The decision came after the 72-hour period following Hakim's resignation ended without a successor being elected. Hakim said, "I can't disrespect the chair."
