CMDA shelves new township project planned in Kancheepuram

The Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority scrapped the proposed new township project in Kancheepuram. The state government rescinded the development plan issued on February 22, 2023. Officials said the decision followed a Master Plan prepared by the Directorate of Town and Country Planning. This move has created doubts about other planned townships.
