The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, West Bengal, reopened voter registration for citizens left out during the Special Intensive Revision 2026. People whose names appear on the ASDD list can apply for inclusion by submitting Form 6. They can use the online portal or contact their local Booth Level Officer.
The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), West Bengal, has reopened the process for eligible citizens whose names were omitted from the electoral rolls during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026.
The move allows eligible individuals to apply for inclusion in the electoral rolls if their names were left out during the revision exercise. The election authorities have also published the list of voters whose names were classified under different categories during the SIR process.
The Absentee, Shifted, Dead and Deleted (ASDD) list prepared during the SIR 2026 has been uploaded on the official website of the CEO, West Bengal. The list is also available through the respective portals of the District Electoral Officers.
The ASDD list contains the names of electors identified under the four categories during the revision process. Citizens can check the list to determine whether their names have been included in the categories.
The publication of the list also provides eligible voters an opportunity to seek correction or re-inclusion if their names have been classified under the ASDD categories despite them continuing to meet the requirements for being enrolled as voters.
ELIGIBLE VOTERS CAN SUBMIT FORM 6
Individuals whose names appear in the ASDD list but who remain eligible to vote can apply for inclusion in the electoral roll by submitting Form 6.
The application can be submitted online or through the concerned Booth Level Officer (BLO). Voters can approach their local BLO for assistance with the application and the required verification process.
Form 6 is the prescribed application for inclusion of a person's name in the electoral roll. Applications submitted by eligible citizens will be processed by the election authorities in accordance with the applicable electoral rules.
CEO REITERATES ECI SUPERVISION
In a press note signed by Additional Chief Electoral Officer Arindam Niyogi, the CEO's office said the electoral authorities would continue to function under the direction and supervision of the Election Commission of India.
The office also reiterated that the electoral roll revision process is being carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Representation of the People Act, 1950.
The SIR exercise is aimed at reviewing and updating electoral rolls to ensure that eligible citizens are included while entries that no longer meet the required criteria are identified.
WHAT VOTERS NEED TO DO
Citizens who believe they remain eligible to vote despite their names appearing in the ASDD list have been advised to check the published list and use the prescribed process for re-inclusion.
Eligible voters can submit Form 6 online or contact their respective BLOs to initiate the process. The applications will then be considered by the election authorities as part of the electoral roll revision process.
The publication of the ASDD list and reopening of the Form 6 process provide eligible voters whose names were left out during SIR 2026 with an opportunity to seek their inclusion in the electoral rolls.
