Assam activist leading protests against Kaziranga luxury hotels detained

Assam Police detained activist Pranab Doley on Sunday, July 12, 2026, for leading protests against luxury hotels near Kaziranga National Park. Booked under 15 sections, he was taken to Guwahati for interrogation. Doley said, "We cannot even be the voice of the people. What kind of democracy is this?" before his detention.
