76% of closed companies were defunct; Maha leads in active firms: Fadnavis

Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said 76% of the 36,211 companies that closed in Maharashtra were defunct. He shared these figures on Friday to defend the state’s industrial record. Fadnavis noted that Maharashtra still has 396,000 active firms. He said, "76% were dysfunctional, companies that never commenced operations," dismissing opposition criticism.
