Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday completed 25 years as head of government, marking a political journey that began with his first term as Gujarat chief minister on October 7, 2001, and continued with three terms as prime minister. The PM marked the milestone by offering prayers at the Shri Vinayaka Temple in Sarojini Nagar, New Delhi, and renewing his pledge to serve the country with utmost dedication.

As PM Modi completed the landmark 25-year stint, several BJP chief ministers and leaders congratulated him, highlighting his emphasis on public service, governance, nation building and the development of a "Viksit Bharat".

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath congratulated PM Modi on completing 25 years as head of government, calling it a matter of "immense joy".

In a post on X, Adityanath said Modi's 25 years of "national dedication" reflected an unwavering commitment to public service, strong determination, visionary leadership and the principle of putting the nation first.

He said Modi had remained dedicated to taking India's identity, self-respect and glory to new heights. "The life of the prime minister inspires the people of the country to build a developed, self-reliant and empowered India," Adityanath said.

He extended his heartfelt congratulations to Modi on completing 25 years on the path of uninterrupted service to the nation.

SUVENDU ADHIKARI SALUTES MODI'S JOURNEY

West Bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari also congratulated Modi, describing the milestone as a quarter-century of "unwavering devotion, visionary leadership, and selfless service".

He said that even after 25 years at the helm, Modi's "energy, zeal and dedication" to serving citizens remained undiminished.

GUJARAT CMO HIGHLIGHTS 'KARMAYOGA'

The Gujarat Chief Minister's Office marked the occasion by sharing an article by former Union Finance and Revenue Secretary Hasmukh Adhia on PM Modi's 25-year journey in public life.

According to the CMO, Modi's tenure spanning his years as Gujarat chief minister and his current role as prime minister reflects a combination of human sensitivity, far-sighted vision and an unwavering spirit of national service.

The article drwas attention to PM Modi's administrative approach, welfare-oriented policies and development-focused decisions, and draws a parallel with the concept of "Karmayoga" described in the Bhagavad Gita.

MOHAN YADAV RECALLS KEY MILESTONES

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said Modi's journey of public service, which began on October 7, 2001, had reached a "glorious milestone" of 25 years.

Yadav said the journey represented a continuous effort to realise the principles of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas".

He cited the government's response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the abrogation of Article 370 and schemes including Ayushman Bharat, Ujjwala and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana while describing the impact of Modi's tenure.

Yadav said the journey continued to provide inspiration for building a developed and self-reliant India and wished Modi a long, healthy and successful life in the service of the nation.

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang also congratulated Modi on completing 25 years in public service and wished him continued good health.

Tamang highlighted PM Modi's focus on the Northeast, saying it had given renewed impetus to connectivity, holistic development and the region's integration with the country's broader development journey.

PM MODI MARKS MILESTONE WITH TEMPLE VISIT

PM Modi offered prayers at the Shri Vinayaka Temple in New Delhi on Wednesday to mark the completion of 25 years as head of government.

In a post on X, he said he prayed for the happiness, prosperity and good health of people across the country and sought the blessings of Lord Ganesha for India's continued progress.

Government sources said Modi renewed his pledge to serve the country with the utmost dedication as he completed the 25-year milestone.

The Union Cabinet had also adopted a resolution congratulating Modi on Tuesday for completing 25 years of continuous leadership as head of government, covering his tenure as Gujarat chief minister and prime minister.
